Yeah, that’s me. I bet you’re wondering how I got here. Let me explain.

My name is Paul Quay, and I’m the founder of Watchtower Films. Media production was my passion during high school, but everyone said I should go to college and get a real job. After 4 years and way too much debt, I ran away to Kyrgyzstan to follow my dreams. Due to an untimely economic collapse, living in Kyrgyzstan was no longer feasible and I soon found myself teaching in a Korean kindergarten. After two years of absolutely mastering my ABCs and crushing all my kids at our “Count to 100 races”, I decided it was time regroup and follow my true passion.

I spent most of 2018 working as a freelance contractor in the wedding industry learning through practical hands-on experience. More importantly, I learned exactly the type of company I didn’t want to work for. On numerous occasions as a contractor, I would be given nothing but an address, a start time, and a name. It pained me every time I had to ask around to figure out who the Bride actually was. Awkward introductions like these always left their mark on the final film because we stayed strangers the entire wedding day.

When I started to branch out on my own, I knew that I wanted things to be fundamentally different. Meeting and getting to know my clients personally before their wedding day is one of my core business values. For Watchtower Films, I will only book a client after we’ve had a consultation. This gives us a simple 30 minutes to get to know each other, go over the basic wedding details, and see if I will be a good fit to capture one of the most special days of your life.
